Print without wasting color ink

Printing color pages in grayscale saves expensive color ink and makes documents easier to read on black-and-white printers and e-readers. Some offices and court systems also require grayscale submissions. Each page is redrawn in shades of gray at the quality you choose.

Private by design

Grayscale PDF runs entirely in your browser. Your file is processed on your own device and is never uploaded to a server, there's no sign-up, and the result is ready to download as soon as it's done.

Questions

Can I still select the text afterwards?

No. Pages are rebuilt as grayscale images. Run PDF OCR afterwards if you need searchable text.

Will the file get bigger?

For text-only PDFs, it can. Choose “Smaller file”, or use Compress PDF afterwards.

Is this the same as printing in black and white?

Similar, but you get a file you can share, archive or send to a print shop.
