Printing slides or notes one per page wastes paper. N-up PDF places several pages side by side on each sheet, in reading order, scaled to fit. Two pages per sheet works well for books and documents, while four or more is ideal for lecture slides and handouts.

What order are pages placed in?
Left to right, then top to bottom, like reading a page of text.
Will the text be too small?
With 2 or 4 pages per sheet, ordinary text stays readable. 9 or 16 suit slides with large text.
Is the text still sharp?
Yes. Pages are scaled, not converted to pictures.
